N.C.A.P. Ottawa chapter meeting report:

Dear brothers & sisters:

Here's my preliminary report on our membership meeting.

I felt it was a good meeting, it was lively at times and we did make some important decision regarding our chapter in Ottawa.

1: board members:

We voted unanimously not to form a board for our chapter. We felt that we would be more efficient by not having it  and that decisions on how to do things should be taken by members at our meetings.

2: Actions and proposals:

A proposal to organize the Mustard Seed fair was put on the table for a vote and all members voted for it.

So now we will begin the work to organize it.

Another proposal to organize a sit in, in front of an abandoned building in the downtown area to address homelessness was put on hold for now.

Finally a proposal to organize a sleep out at the same time as those that will be happening in the fall across Quebec was voted in favor.

Details on this will come later.

We also discussed a proposal that was brought up at our founding in March.

This was to organize a list serve or group on the internet that will deal with organizing actions.

The group was made up last night and it's named N.C.A.P Ottawa action group.

Please refer to the main page for details on this.

Our next meeting will take place in June, more details will be posted on our site regarding this.

As a result of our latest meeting, I will be interviewed regarding N.C.A.P. on the air at CHUO (University of Ottawa radio station) on Monday May 19th at 5PM, if you wish to listen to it, please turn your radio to FM 89.1

In solidarity

Daniel
