A few weeks ago, our representative in Calgary had a meeting with someone who was interested in
the homeless issue in this city.
This meeting led to a deal with this person giving NCAP Calgary some funding for a one year
project to address homelessness in this city.
I have moved back to Calgary this month due to the fact that our representative had to move away
from town, so I will be organizing this project over the next few months and hopefully, we will be able to come up with something
that really helps getting our brothers & sisters off the street.
We did come up with a few idea's so far and it looks pretty good, more updates will be added to
this site as soon as anything comes up.
In other news:
I have been very busy since I moved back to Calgary, yesterday I had a meeting with a city councillor
and we did discuss the homeless issue and other problems related to the issue.
Amongst what was discussed was the following:
Relation between the Calgary Police service & the homeless.
Problems with slumlords
Problem with getting people to the new foothill shelter operated by the Mustard seed street Ministry.
This meeting was the most important one before our founding meeting on the 20th of this month.
Since I left last year, things have changed dramatically for those who are in need in this city,
these changes are not neccessarely for the best.
I am learning every day that some things have been degrading instead of improving for our brothers
& sisters here.
